I get paid next week and will be throwing half my paycheck towards these dumbbells. Aside from that, he works like spiderman with those bands and weaves loops around his chair & feet that you only get a second to see so your left sort of lost on what to do. I need to get the dumbbells! The bands can be useful, but they only give you one resistance size to work with, the guy on the DVD is switching between 2. X because they kicked my ass on this DVD. It's funny because when I first started the original power 90, I could barely keep up with half of the stuff they did, but after a few weeks I was right on cue with them, I'm hoping this program will work the same way, especially AB R.

I used to do the Ab Ripper 100 & 200 with the original power 90 series and built my way up to be able to complete these. Man, 349 repetitions, 25 reps per exercise type, non-stop, pretty intense. When you stick to weight training & don't incorporate any resistance or body weight exercises, you can really lose some of that core strength! I used to only do resistance & body weight, for the past year though I've been doing strictly weight training & cardio.ĪB Ripper X. I'm hoping by the end of the first 30 days I will be able to complete at least 10 unassisted each round.įor the push ups I kept with the group for probably about 75% of them, most of the time I went until failure, the diamond push ups are killer, I hit the ground out of exhaustion probably 3 times in the 2nd round. Apparently I suck at them, which I've now learned. I was able to complete only a total of 6 unassisted wide grip pull ups & 5 unassisted close grip chin ups the first round, I used a chair for a little extra support for the majority of the DVD in regards to the pull ups & chin ups. The workout was pretty intense, lots of different variations of push ups & pull ups. I did Chest/Back + AB Ripper X after finally getting my P90X pull up bar setup.

I was definitely sweating and got tired during a lot of the exercises, I made it through the DVD but I definitely want to have the Dumbbells by my next go around with any arm workouts. I used the bands that came with the program today, using the bands makes the exercises a bit more difficult to figure out as far as movements and adjusting the resistance goes. I don't have the Select Tech 552 Dumbbells yet, I don't get paid until next week and they cost about $350. I had everything setup and couldn't get the bit to lock into place, after about an hour or so of this it was getting late & I didn't want to miss a workout so I did Shoulders & Arms. I went home with the drill I was missing to setup my P90X bar for chest/back. My diet was on 100% today, I have no problem eating the same things day in and day out, I like the routine of preparation and knowing what to buy when I go to the store.

I've been way busy at work the past 2 days so I'm having to recap the initial starting days of the program. Goal: Reach 10-11% BF, I'm currently sitting at 18% BF at about 225lbs. I did the original Power 90 about 3 years ago, though I didn't follow it 100% and still drank on the weekends & used my own diet instead of following any nutrition plans. Today will be my first day of starting P90X, the 90 days should end just around my birthday (October 5th).
